An expert committee has been formed to conduct an inquiry into the death of an infant at the Institute of Maternal and Child Health situated on the Kozhikode Government Medical College campus.

KOZHIKODE: An expert committee has been formed to conduct an inquiry into the death of an infant at the Institute of Maternal and Child Health situated on the Kozhikode Government Medical College campus.
The committee comprising experts of Kozhikode Government Medical College and others was formed by the district collector Sambasiva Rao here on Monday following a complaint registered by the parents of newborn.

The couple, Megha and Ranjith, hailing from Muyipoth near Vadakara had alleged that their three-day-old newborn's death at IMCH was due to the negligence of doctors.
The incident pertaining to it was occurred on April 29. Megha was admitted to the IMCH on April 26 for delivery and her three-day-old newborn died on April 29. Family members of Megha alleged that hospital negligence caused the death of newborn and also filed a complaint with the IMCH.
Collector directed the expert panel to submit a detailed report at the earliest.
Earlier, district committee of Yuvamorcha conducted a protest march demanding a detailed inquiry into the incident to take action against the guilty.
